Fall :)

So we are loving this cool weather.  I wish October was all year!  A lot has happened since my last post....last Wednesday (a week and 1/2 ago) I was getting out of my car at my parents' house and fell.  It had rained earlier that day, it was dark outside, and I was carrying WAY too much.  Anyways, I fell and sprained my right ankle really really really bad.  I honestly though I broke it at first but thankfully I didn't!  So my parent's came home and helped me up and took care of me that night.  Unfortunately I had a project due the next day (the reason I was carrying so much) so it was quite interesting trying to scoot everywhere on my butt while putting my poster together.  Thankfully my sweet husband was there to help me :)

I just finished my 1st week of Lab at Wheeless Road Elementary (5th grade).  It's been a good experience and I am excited because next week I get to teach 4 days of Social Studies!  I'm a little nervous, but I've been working hard on all my lesson plans.  So, 3 more weeks of Lab, then I'll be SO close to the end of the semester!  It is so crazy how fast time is flying....pretty soon I'll be in my apprenticeship! :)

As for Xaq, he is still pushing through his online seminary classes.  Bless his heart, it's so much reading!  But each day is closer to him (and I) being done.  We are looking for a new car (well, not new, but a different one!) to trade the Explorer in for.  The Explorer just drinks gas...we really just want to get a smaller car.  We are praying that sometime soon we will find one.

Please keep my Uncle Harley in your prayers.  He has been sick for the past couple months and can't walk.  He is staying at my parents house for the time being, and we are looking for a place he can move in to so he can get his strength back.  He has been through so much, and we know that God has a plan.  Just please pray for guidance and peace.

Well I have to be up early in the morning, so I'm going to sleep now.  I hope everyone has a good week!  :)

My first post!

Hello everyone!  This is my first official blog post :)  I wanted to start a blog so that when we move in a few months, we will have a way to keep everyone posted on what's going on in our lives!

As many of you know, Xaq and I were married on April 2, 2011, and we are adapting well to married-life.  We finally hit our 6th month mark!  Time sure is flying by.  We are living in Xaq's parent's backyard in what we call a 'one-roomed cottage'.  We are enjoying this special time together, and grateful to his parents for allowing us to live here.  :)

I am in Block III of the Early Childhood Education Program, and I finally get to graduate in May!  I am so excited to be this close to graduation...I even turned in my Grad Application yesterday and it does NOT feel real.  After being in college for almost 5 years, I think it's time ;)  Lately I have been up to my ears in school work....projects, labs, lesson plans....when will it stop?  Oh yea, May 12, 2012.  I guess till then I have to push through best I can!  I start my apprenticeship in January; I'll be in 3rd grade at Greenbrier Elementary.. I LOVE my lab teacher and students...sometimes I think about next semester and that's what gets me through this one.  Thankfully I have some awesome people in my life to encourage me!

Yes, I am still at CFA, and as of October 6 I have been there officially 6 years!  Crazy!!  I feel old.

As for my precious hubby, graduation occurred for him this past May, and he received his degree in Public Relations.  He just started online classes with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (in Louisville) back in August, and he is constantly reading or watching online lectures.  He recently got a job as a worship leader at New Hope of Thomson, and a part-time job at Lifeway.  We joined New Hope about a month ago, and we absolutely LOVE it.  Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging; God definitely is blessing us.

Well it's getting late, and Xaq is already snoring so I better try to get some sleep too (wish me luck!)  Thanks for reading, and check back time-to-time to see what's going on and to comment!  Night!
